Fancy being the proud owner of a dress owned by Cheryl?

You might own all of her albums and all those of Girls Aloud but now comes a chance for Cheryl fans to acquire something truly unique.

A cocktail dresses uk owned and worn by the Geordie pop star is one of the most eye-catching lots at a Newcastle auction in aid of two good causes.

It will go to the highest bidder at the special fund-raiser for the Globe Gallery in Newcastle and The Bubble Foundation at the Great North Children’s Hospital.

The white dress was designed by Krystof Strozyna, a London-based Polish designer who completed an MA in women’s fashion at Central Saint Martins, the London art and design college, in 2007.

That same year he was invited to display his collection at Harrods as one of the winners of the Harrods Design Award.

His dresses, lauded by fashion writers as sharply tailored and sculptural, earned him funding from the British Fashion Council’s New Generation scheme and Topshop for a show at London Fashion Week.

Since then he has been featured in top fashion magazines and earned the custom of some high profile women including Cheryl who was photographed wearing the dress when still a member of Girls Aloud.

That said, you won’t get a lot of frock for your buck.

Organisers of the auction at Chaopraya, the Thai restaurant which occupies plum position at intu Eldon Square’s new Grey’s Quarter, say the dress was clearly designed for a petite figure.

It slipped neatly over a mannequin – but it was a very slim mannequin.

Cheryl has also been seen in other dresses designed by Krystof Strozyna but this one, it seems, has lost its place in her wardrobe.

They are grateful for that at The Bubble Foundation, which raises money for treating babies with deficient immune systems, and at the Globe Gallery which, as well as putting on exhibitions, works with the mentally ill.

Cheryl’s cheap cocktail dresses, donated by the star’s mum, Joan, who has promised to attend the event, is just one of the prizes coming under the hammer.

Other prizes include an original painting called Lollipops & 99s by Alexander Millar (an image of it can be seen at Grey’s Quarter), tickets to see Boyzlife at Hilton Newcastle Gateshead, a box for 10 to see Cirque du Soleil show Varekai at the Metro Radio Arena, an original drawing of Sid the Sexist by Simon Donald of Viz fame, framed photos by Colin Davison, a print by Richard Phipps and dinner for two at Chaophraya with a two-night stay at Motel One, High Bridge, and a £200 intu Eldon Square gift card.

The auction, which takes place on Wednesday, January 25, from 6-8pm, is by invitation only.

But if you can’t get to the event, you can still submit a sealed bid for one of the prizes or bid by telephone during the auction.

Princess Kate and Sister Pippa Middleton

Before the eyes of the world were on her at her own wedding with Prince William, Princess Kate and younger sister Pippa Middleton turned heads as adorable bridesmaids.

In footage from their uncle Gary Goldsmith and Miranda Foote’s 1991 marriage ceremony obtained by the Daily Mail, the sisters donned light pink bridesmaids cheap cocktail dresses with puffy sleeves and floral crowns. Their younger brother James, wearing a little tuxedo, was all smiles as he took photos with the men of the wedding party.

Although 9-year-old Kate looked thrilled to be dolled up for the day, waving at the camera and happily posing for pictures, Pippa, then age 7, fussed with her flower headpiece and seemed a little more grouchy.

Video from the reception shows Pippa and Kate getting kisses and gifts from their uncle to thank them for being part of the nuptials.

Pippa, 33, was a much more willing bridesmaid when Kate wed William in April 2011 in front of 1,900 gathered guests — and millions more watching around the world — at Westminster Abbey.

While Kate’s Alexander McQueen gown and Cartier Halo tiara made it clear it was her big day, Pippa’s form-fitting white bridesmaid gown made headlines of its own.

“As I have found out, recognition has its upside, its downside and – you may say – its backside,” Pippa quipped at an event in 2014, adding that the infamous couture “fitted a little too well.”

Kate, 35, will have an opportunity to return the favor for her sister soon. The younger Middleton sister became engaged to financier James Matthews this past summer and is expected to get married in May.

Pendant Necklaces to Buy Now

Newton’s third law of accessorizing states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. In 2016, that action was everyone and their mom festooning their necks with chokers. Per fashion law, in 2017, chains will lengthen and pendants big and small will break up the monotony of banding. While quietly seductive chokers will remain part of our jewelry rotation, we’ll offset their daintiness by pairing them with swaying statement necklaces.

pics;short prom dresses

As with all street style trends, this one’s hot off the (soon to be not so) recent runways. For Spring 2017, a host of designers championed the pendant necklace. Charms glinted on the catwalks at Prada, Lanvin, Givenchy, Chanel, Balmain, Dolce & Gabbana, Paul & Joe, Esteban Cortazar and more.

Styling’s easy. Pendant necklaces subtly draw the eye downward — coordinate neckline and necklace lengths accordingly. During the day, longer, outsize pendant necklaces add interest to modest outfits. (We especially like them with a silky tank-over-turtleneck look.) Once it hits cocktail hour, shorter-chained, daintier pendants complement plunging V-necks. Of course, there are no overarching rules when it comes to wearing jewelry. Diamond-encrusted, would-be evening glitter amps up daytime as well as nighttime looks — just ask Rihanna.

Do like the fashion set does and give your pendant necklace a personal touch. Head to your local pendant peddler (or call up New Top Jewelry) and commission a charm with personal significance. Or shop the pendant necklace collection we’ve culled in the slideshow below. Or do both.

Isabelle Daza dresses up as her mom Gloria Diaz

Here's a fun photo: Isabelle Daza plus size prom dresses as her mother Gloria Diaz back when she won the country's first Miss Universe title in 1969.

Complete with her own replica of the Miss Universe crown and sash, Daza proved that good looks run in the family as she takes after her famous mother. The actress wrote as the caption: "When your mom is iconic enough to be a costume."

Diaz is one of only 3 Pinays so far to win the coveted title, with the other 2 being Margie Moran (1973) and Pia Wurtzbach (2015).

Diaz recently made headlines over her controversial interview about the chances of the Philippines' Maxine Medina to take home the crown and make it back-to-back wins for the pageant-crazed nation.

Diaz explained that her "one in a million" comment did not imply that Medina does not deserve the crown, saying it has a lot to do with the fact that she is the host delegate.

"We're the host. Parang can you imagine if we make our representative win? Eh 'di magwawala lahat ng candidates and also their countries, their ambassadors? And they would all think that we are unfair," she said.

Daza is Diaz's daughter with the late Bong Daza.

Watch the 65th Miss Universe coronation live on ABS-CBN Channel 2 on January 30, 2017 Monday 8 a.m. (Manila time)

“The feeding program has already begun,” said Brown. “We will be able to get pictures of the kids eating a nutritional daily meal for the first time in their lives.

“We are so thankful to so many for making it possible for us to go on this trip and see for ourselves. We’ll probably be pinching ourselves while we’re there after so long a delay.”

The delegation also will take girls’ quinceanera dresses and boys’ shorts made by home schoolers, members of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Christ’s Church and Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church and Dress-a-Girl workshop participants.

Missoni’s take on Japan at Milan men’s fashion

Ferragamo and Missoni’s shows were among almost 40 presentations in Italy’s fashion capital of the clothes and accessories aiming for men’s wardrobes in autumn and winter 2017/2018.

The Ferragamo collection was the first by young designer Guillaume Meilland, one of several names debuting in these days in Milan, including Ermenegildo Zegna’s Alessandro Sartori.

Meilland was appointed in November to lead the ready-to-wear men’s category, one of a trio of creative managers picked by Eraldo Poletto, chief executive at the Florence-based brand since August.

The biggest influence of the collection, which seamlessly blended a classic look with a younger and more leisurely one, was founder Salvatore Ferragamo himself.

“My greatest inspiration has been to imagine what forms, techniques, materials and philosophies Salvatore would be developing were he alive today,” said Meilland in a statement.

Models wore tailored high-waist trousers matched with tucked-in oversized sweaters, rider and aviator jackets embellished with fur, and long classical print overcoats.

The timeless silhouettes in grey, black or burgundy were interrupted by bright red and blue decorations, sapphire leathers, small necklaces and jewellery pins.

Leather accessories, the brand’s core business, dotted the collection in the shape of oversized handheld bags and big backpacks.

The Asian influence shone through in metal embroidery, some in the shape of stars, that was inspired by the Japanese ’shibori’ techniques. Abstract and blurred patterns recalled the ’kasuri’ Japanese textiles, a style note by the fashion house explained.

Models walked in a converted industrial space, in one of the city’s fashion centres, with a relaxed yet geeky allure.

Monthly tours at Black Beauty Ranch

If you haven't had the chance to visit, or take a tour of the Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch, now is your chance.

The animal sanctuary in Murchison is offering Ranch of Dreams tours once a month, on the second Saturday of each month.

The sanctuary is not a zoo, and is only open to the public for private, small, guided tours to respect the peace and privacy of the animals.

pics:one shoulder prom dresses

Noelle Alrud, director of the Black Beauty Ranch, said, “It's important we respect the peace and privacy of the animals. It's their home.”

During the tour, you will learn about the many primates rescued from research laboratories, and the private pet trade who now live a free life in sanctuary.

Other stops on the tour will include farm pigs, goats, sheep, turkeys and chickens, big cat habitat and rehabilitated native wildlife. The 35-acre non-native wildlife habitat is home to: more than 100 animals, many of whom were saved from being sold to captive hunting operations; free-roaming cows and steers; the Doris Day Equine Center. The 19-acre wild pig pen is home to rescued wild pigs.

You will hear about homeless horses rescued from cruelty, and hundreds of wild burros saved from extermination and slaughter.

“The tour includes all 1,400 acres,” said Alrud. “The guests will learn about the animals, and where they were rescued from.”

The Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch is a world-renowned animal sanctuary. The ranch was founded in 1979 by author and animal advocate Cleveland Amory.

And in 2014 the board of directors of The Fund for Animals voted to memorialize its late, great founder by renaming its flagship animal sanctuary in his honor.

The sanctuary will host its next open house to the public on April 1.

“Black Beauty Ranch will open its doors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., so visitors can meet, and learn about the nearly 1,000 formerly-abused, abandoned and neglected animals cared for at this sanctuary,” said Alrud.

Admission to the open house is free, but tax-deductible donations to help provide direct care for the resident animals are accepted.

Everyone is welcome, but pets must stay at home for their own safety, as well as that of the sanctuary residents.

I Should Have Gotten Married That Night!

Gina Rodriguez really switched-up her red carpet style this year at the 2017 Golden Globes with a standout sparkly Naeem Khan halter gown (and Chopard jewels) that landed her on all our best red cocktail dress lists. But it’s been two days since she returned the dress and she’s having major withdrawal issues – even wishing she’d tied the knot just to get to wear it longer.

The actress was reliving her glam Hollywood moment from the red carpet on Instagram, posting a slow-motion video of herself showing off the sparkly fringe appliqué on the gown when it struck her: the dire mistake she made in returning it. “I should have stolen that dress,” she wrote. “Or got married that night. Or slept in the dress. Something.”

You may think it’s a long shot for her to ask the designer for a second chance with the dress through social media, but the odds are a lot better than you may think. Last year a fan tweeted Rodriguez saying how much she loved the blue Zac Posen off-the-shoulder gown she wore to the 2016 Golden Globes, saying she would love to wear it to prom. Rodriguez actually replied and said that she doesn’t own that dress, but does have the black strapless Badgley Mischka dress from the 2015 show (where she just happened to win for best actress!).

She ended up sending the high schooler her red prom dress , and the girl really did wear it to prom. (We know, “straight out of a telenovela!”)

We really hope Rodriguez gets the gown back and is able to wear it to her wedding… or the next 20 award shows. If anything else, she could loan it to her Jane the Virgin costar Andrea Navedo. It was basically made for Xiomara to wear singing and shimmying in on stage.
